Fernandez Bay

Since we are trying not to rush into any cool weather…. yesterday's sail amounted to 6nm.  At this rate we should be in the Chesapeake by October!  OK, not really but we have never been to this lovely bay and we figured that as long as we are in the neighborhood, why not.

The bay is a small setting and the main attraction here is the Fernandez Bay Village, a small 15 villa/cottage arrangement along with a main dining/tiki hut area where all the activity takes place.  We went in for happy hour and met the other boat in the anchorage, sv Silent Faith.  This big cat is a Voyage 50, a big sister of Nati.  Make no mistake…..she is BIG!  There was another person from Melbourne but she must be the one person Jean doesn't know in town!  To check out the resort go to:  www.fernandezbayvillage.com

This morning before the tide went out any further we took a dinghy ride up the Fernandez Creek to find some turtles but saw nothing.  It was a nice ride though and on the way back we saw 3 Bridled Terns.  It was a first for us!

Tomorrow we head towards Eleuthera.  A long day on the water……so it'll be up bright and early, pull up anchor and go!
